Enjoy the benefits of singing in our welcoming group – everyone is welcome regardless of age or ability!

The Harpenden Intergenerational Singing Group welcomes people of all ages to our friendly, inclusive group. 

The group meets every Tuesday at 12.45-1.30pm at the Salvation Army on Leyton Green, Harpenden, excluding Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays. The next session will take place on Tuesday 8th September.

As we all know, music has the power to lift our spirits. It can make us feel happy, connect us to memories, give us confidence and reduce anxiety. The Intergenerational Singing Group was set up to provide a place to join friends, have fun, enjoy singing and experience the benefits of mixing with people of all ages. This is an inclusive choir and we offer a special invitation to people living with dementia and their carers.

The Intergenerational Singing Group is a collaboration between The Salvation Army, Clover Singing Club, Sir John Lawes School and the Harpenden Trust. Students from Sir John Lawes School and members of the Clover Singing Club join in with singing each week and a friendly welcome and cup of tea is offered to all. During half term and at other times when the school is unable to attend we are joined by Singing by Heart.

Please remember that "snow means no" - if it snows we will not meet. In addition, Intergenerational Singing will not take place when temperatures are forecast to be over 30^oC or higher.
