Fovant Close Community Orchard
The Community Orchard is situated on a small section of land between Fovant Close and Broadstone Road. The area is managed by the Town Council in partnership with local residents. You can read our Management Plan here.
The Community Orchard is open and accessible at all times. It is a place where people can relax and enjoy themselves, get involved in growing and maintaining the trees under the guidance of our Green Space Officers, and enjoy the fruits of the harvest.
There are a selection of apple, pear and plum trees in the orchard including Laxtons Fortune, Discovery, James Grieve amongst others.
The Town Council's aims for the orchard are to:
- maintain and improve the current selection of fruit trees
- improve the ecological biodiversity and habitats for wildlife where appropriate
- raise awareness of the Orchard within the local community and wider area.
