Volunteers Needed for Wildlife Surveys

Wildlife Surveys – we need your help!

Bee, bat, butterfly and hedgehog surveys take place during the spring and summer months at both Batford Springs Local Nature Reserve and on Harpenden Common as part of nationwide citizen science projects which are run by Butterfly Conservation, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Bat Conservation Trust and People’s Trust for Endangered Species.

Volunteering for these surveys is a great way to learn more about these wonderful animals, and no previous experience is required. Only a small commitment of a few hours at a time is needed, and you can schedule your hours to suit your own availability.

This is a great opportunity to help us manage our wonderful wild places while meeting like-minded people with an interest in the outdoors, and our volunteers are a key part of the success of these surveys.

If you would like to get involved, please contact our Commons and Green Support Officer, Julie, at
