Week 21

Harpenden welcomes its new Town Mayor | 19/05/2014

The Annual Meeting of Harpenden Town Council and the Mayor-Making Ceremony took place on Monday 12 May. Councillor Mary Maynard was delighted to be elected as the Town Mayor for 2014/15, having served as Deputy Town Mayor for 2013/14 and Councillor Brian Ellis was elected as the Deputy Town Mayor for 2014/15.

Harpenden Town Council Responds to London Luton Airport’s Planning Decision | 12/05/2014

The Town Council has received notification from the Department for Communities and Local Government’s to Luton Borough Council advising that the Secretary of State, has decided not to Call-in the planning application of London Luton Airport Operations Ltd to expand the airport.

Cheque Presentation to the Town Mayor’s Charities at the Annual Town Meeting | 07/04/2014

The Town Mayor, Councillor Rosemary Farmer, was delighted to present cheques, each in the sum of £3457.51,to her nominated charities; The Harpenden Trust and The Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity at the Annual Town Meeting on Monday 31 March. A cheque was presented to Major Harry Hinnell, The Royal Anglian Regiment , and to Graham Westwell, Chair of The Harpenden Trust.

Murder Mystery Raises Funds for the Town Mayor’s Charities | 14/03/2014

The Town Mayor, Councillor Rosemary Farmer, held a fun charity murder mystery evening at Roundwood Park School on Sunday the 9th March. The evening took on a 1920s theme and the hall was decorated to provide ambience and atmosphere. The tables had giant cocktail glasses oozing with colourful sweets and treats.
