Harpenden Town Council owns and manages Porters Hill Park, located just off Pickford Hill in Batford.
Facilities within the Park include a natural play area with a zip-wire, basket swing, slide and a wooden climbing frame, a large grassed area for informal games and football, a toddler play area and also a multi-use games area with floodlighting.

Groundwork Hertfordshire designed the play area following community consultation with local young people. Other groups involved included St Albans City and District Council, Harpenden Town Council, Batford Community Action Group, The Harpenden Trust, County Cllr Bernard Lloyd’s Locality Budget, Hertfordshire Police Authority, London Luton Airport Community Trust Fund and RWE Npower Renewables
