The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

On 6th February 2022 Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June.

We are planning an unforgettable celebration in Harpenden on Thursday 2nd June, 12-6pm

Harpenden Town Council is organising the Community Festival to kick off the Town’s celebrations. We are thrilled to announce that the event, based on Harpenden Common, will include live music and entertainment, food and drink stalls, outdoor tables and community seating, games, face painting interactive performances and many more exciting family friendly activities.

Jubilee Beacon banner

Thursday 2nd June 9.45pm

In keeping with the long tradition of celebrating the very best of Royal occasions, Harpenden will be taking part in the national beacon lighting UK in the evening of 2 June 2022. Hosted by the Mayor of Harpenden, this will be a memorable and exciting occasion on Harpenden Common. More information about this event will become available soon.

Harpenden's Platinum Jubilee Window Trail - Test your Royal Knowledge and Win a Special Jubilee Hamper Worth £150!

The Harpenden Platinum Jubilee Window Trail will be running from Friday 27 May until Sunday 5 June.

To take part, pick up an answer sheet and map from the Town Hall or one of the participating businesses. You can find each question displayed in the shop windows indicated on the map. Drop the answer sheet into Harpenden Town Council's letterbox by 8pm on Sunday 5 June and a winner will be selected at random from the answer sheets with the most correct answers!

Jubilee Street party banner

This is a fantastic time to organise a Street Party. It’s easy to do and is a wonderful way to gather friends and neighbours outside for fun and games, afternoon tea, playing out or simply just a chat with a cup of tea! Many streets will be organising their parties on Sunday 5th June but you are welcome to plan yours for any other time. Local volunteers “Our Street Party” is running information sessions to get advice and all the information you need from applying to close your road to providing ideas of things to do. The FREE INFORMATION SESSIONS will take place online in February, click here for further information and to book your free place.

Memory Lane  Jubilee Party

Harpenden's Memory Lane Cafe is hosting a Jubilee Party on Monday 30th May for people living with dementia and their loved ones.

St Nics posterSt Nicholas' Church would like to invite you to their Jubilee tea party on Sunday 5th June. The event will include cream teas, entertainment, live music and craft activities. See poster for further details.

Songs of Praise - Sunday 5th June, 6.30-8.00pm

Churches Together is holding a evening of praise and thanks on Harpenden Common. More information can be found on the back page of the Platinum Jubilee Brochure above.
