There are a number of ways that you can get involved with Harpenden in Bloom. You don't have to have much gardening experience: just plenty of enthusiasm!
Competitions
Each year the Harpenden in Bloom Working Party organise several competitions for schools, organisations, businesses and members of the public. Competitions include Best Communal Garden, Most Creative Planter, Tallest Sunflower and Sunflowers with the Most Heads, as well as competitions for allotment owners.
Sponsorship
There are a number of flower beds throughout the town centre available for sponsorship on an annual basis. Sponsorship of the Bull Road Roundabout is organised through a tender process.
Working Party
The Working Party meet once a year and make decisions on planting schemes in the town, as well as supporting competition judging and getting involved in planting days. We welcome new members
Planting days
The Working Party organises two planting days per year, usually in May and October, to plant seasonal flowers and shrubs in a selection of flower beds in the town.
Other ways to get involved
If you are unable to get involved in the ways listed above, we have opportunities for businesses and individuals with an interest in landscaping or photography to get involved with the judging of competitions, or if you are a keen photographer, to photograph the flowerbeds and hanging baskets throughout the town.
