Harpenden Town Council hosts two exciting events in Lydekker Park this year: the Teddy Bears' Picnic took place on Wednesday 3rd August and Music in Lydekker which will go ahead on Saturday 27th August. These extremely popular, free, occasions have become summer highlights for residents and visitors to this beautiful green space. There’s no need to book, just come along and enjoy a wonderful celebration of music, activities and entertainment in picturesque Lydekker Park!
This August Bank Holiday
Music in Lydekker is the perfect way to make the most of the August Bank Holiday weekend. This event attracts an audience of all ages and showcases fabulous musical talent. Performing this year are Tennessee Boogie Boys and Threefold, bands that are guaranteed to get the crowds up off their deck chairs!
Tennessee Boogie Boys promise upbeat authentic 1950’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Country with a little bit of blues added in; with hits from Elvis, Bill Haley, BR549, Fats Domino and many more. Threefold is an exciting acoustic covers trio who explore interesting takes on songs, classic to contemporary, with smooth three part harmony as a specialty. Food will be provided by Hertfordshire family business Dough with the Flow, simply the best woodfired pizzas around, while drinks come courtesy of Little Italy Bar Co. Join us with your picnic rugs or chairs and you’re welcome to bring refreshments too.
Lydekker Park is a beautiful green space near the centre of Harpenden and is enjoyed by residents and visitors as a place to walk, relax and take part in leisure activities. The Park boasts open grass areas with mature trees, shrub beds, and wildlife ponds. A selection of new trees have been planted in the last year as part of Harpenden Town Council’s ongoing policy to increase biodiversity and combat climate change.
