Classics on the Common

This year’s classic car show on Harpenden Common is on Wednesday, 22 July. Every year, Harpenden Common welcomes 1,000 classic cars, motorcycles and scooters. Over 100 years of automotive history is represented, From a 1917Harley Davidson Model F through to a 2020 McLaren GT, with a great selection in between, including a 1924 Bentley 3 Litre Sports, a 1927 Vauxhall 14/40 Princeton Tourer plus a parade or Rolls Royces, and many example of classic marques like Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lotus. 

The organisers of this charity event, Rotary in Harpenden, suggest that residents should if possible, avoid using the Harpenden-St Albans road (A1081) between 11.00am and dusk as there will be considerable congestion with classic vehicles entering and leaving the Common opposite the Silver Cup.

As usual, there will be no entry charge for the public but, in return for the chance to enjoy the spectacle of classic vehicles, and to help charities, Rotary in Harpenden ask everyone to donate as generously as possible at any of the collection points.
