While we can't host our VE Day 75 commemoration as originally planned, we will be hosting a virtual celebration on 8 May.
We are putting together a video that will incorporate elements of the original programme, which will include the playing of the last post, Battle’s O’er and VE DAY 75, along with a toast to the heroes of World War II.
If you would like to be involved in the video, we are asking residents to display peace birds in their homes and submit photos to Harriet.Tamke@harpenden.gov.uk by 1 May to be included in the video. A dove template can be downloaded here (clicking this link will enable an automatic Word download).
Are you looking for wars to participate in theVirtual Celebration of VE Day 75? Join the Town Council on Facebook the afternoon of 8 May, where we will be posting a video that will incorporate elements of the original VE Day 75 programme (https://www.veday75.org/programme/).
There are also great resources online that will help you plan an at-home celebration of#VEDay75:
