Harpenden Town Council is delighted to announce it has bagged £3485 from a Tesco funding scheme.
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its Bags of Help funding initiative, which sees grants raised from carrier bag sales being awarded to thousands of local community projects every year.
Millions of shoppers voted in stores up and down the country. And it can now be revealed Harpenden Town Council has been awarded £3485.
Following the success of 2017’s Harpenden Goes Wild Carnival, the Town Council will build on the inspiring wildlife activities showcased at that event with a year of Harpenden Goes Wild. The project aims to engage, inspire and encourage the young people of Harpenden to learn in and love the outdoors. We want to increase the number and range of activities that we can offer to young people across all of our open spaces to include pond dipping, wild woods days, bat and insect surveys, crafting and den building to name a few.
