Porters Hill Park

Harpenden Town Council own and manage Porters Hill Park, located just off Pickford Hill in Batford.  

Facilities within the Park include a natural play area with a zip-wire, basket swing, slide and a wooden climbing frame, a large grassed area for informal games and football, a toddler play area and also a multi-use games area with floodlighting.

 The natural play area was opened in May 2010 following its development from a previously derelict area of land.  Groundwork Hertfordshire designed the play area following community consultation with local young people.  Other groups involved included St Albans City and District Council, Harpenden Town Council, Batford Community Action Group, The Harpenden Trust, County Cllr Bernard Lloyd’s Locality Budget, Hertfordshire Police Authority, London Luton Airport Community Trust Fund and RWE Npower Renewables

Watford Football Club Onside Project:  On Tuesday nights (school term time only) Watford FC run football coaching sessions for two age groups:  8 to 11 years old from 6pm until 7pm (cost £1 per session) and 12 to 16 years old from 7pm until 8pm (free).  For more information please see: www.watfordfccsetrust.com/onside
