Harpenden in Bloom

Winner of the Harpenden in Bloom logo competition for 2014: Charlie Wheeler, St Nicholas Primary School

Harpenden in Bloom is a community initiative designed to enhance the appearance of Harpenden, Southdown and Batford, promote a sense of ownership of the Town by the local community and improve the quality of life for all.

Supported by the Town Council, the Harpenden in Bloom Working Party arrange a number of events throughout the year to encourage participation from members of the public of all ages from competitions to planting days and the opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves via the sponsorship of flowerbeds and hanging baskets.  Groups such as the local allotment associations and the Brownies all help out along with the Town Council's contractors to ensure that the Town shows off the best floral displays possible.
