Harpenden Town Council is keen to support all local community groups and activities that benefit the town. The Town Council has a small budget to offer local groups and organisations Grant Aid. Grants up to the value of £500 can be awarded for worthy projects that would benefit the community of Harpenden.
All applicants for grant aid complete an application form outlining the purpose of the grant. The applications are then considered against agreed criteria at a Policy and Finance committee meeting which are held at regular intervals throughout the year.
If you feel that a project which you are working on or would like to work on is eligible, please read the grant aid criteria carefully and complete the Harpenden Town Council application form below. As well as grants from Harpenden Town Council, St Albans District Council has grants available for community based organisations. These are managed on behalf of St Albans District Council by CVS. In addition, each Hertfordshire County Councillor has a £10,000 locality budget to spend on worthwhile community budgets. If you are a member of a community group or run a local charity, you can discuss your project and the funding required before making a grant application online. The deadline for completed application forms is approximately three weeks before the date of the meeting, to enable it to be included on the Agenda for that meeting.
