Community Grants

The Town Council has a small budget to offer local individuals, groups and organisations grant aid. Grants up to the value of £500 can be awarded for worthy projects that would benefit the community of Harpenden.

All applicants for grant aid complete an application form, providing the purpose of the grant and giving their financial status, and are considered against an agreed criteria. All applications are considered at a Policy and Finance committee meeting which are held at regular intervals throughout the year.

Recent grants, to name a few, which have been awarded, have helped to fund the following:

  • Batford and Southdown Christmas Lights switch on events
  • Classics on the Common marshaling
  • Girl Guides to visit an international Jamborette
  • Harpenden Town Football Club for security gates
  • Computer classes at Harpenden Senior's Club
  • Batford Springs Volunteers towards equipment

If you feel that a project which you are working on or would like to work on is eligible, please read the grant aid criteria carefully and complete the application form below or for further information about the grant aid process or to find out the next date that applications are to be considered, please contact Heather Scott on Tel: 01582 463664 or email: heather.scott@harpenden.gov.uk
