Community Grants

Harpenden Town Council is keen to support local community groups and activities that benefit the town. The Town Council operates a Grant Aid programme where grants up to the value of £500 can be awarded for projects that would benefit the community of Harpenden.

All applicants for grant aid should complete an application form outlining the purpose of the grant. These applications are then considered against the agreed criteria at a Corporate Policy and Finance committee meeting which are held at regular intervals throughout the year. See our calendar of meetings for more information about the next relevant committee meeting here. Ideally, your completed application form should be received three weeks before the meeting at which it is to be considered.

If you feel that a project which you are working on or would like to work on is eligible, please read the grant aid criteria carefully and complete the application form below.  For further information about the grant aid process or to find out the next date when applications are to be considered, please contact Emma Payne at Harpenden Town Council on 01582 768278 or email: emma.payne@harpenden.gov.uk

More information on grants previously awarded can be found here  - see the section for Grant Award Payments.

There are other grant streams available including  St Albans District Council.  These grants are managed on behalf of St Albans District Council by CVS. For further information http://www.volunteerstalbans.org.uk/

In addition, each Hertfordshire County Councillor has a £10,000 locality budget to spend on worthwhile community projects. If you are a member of a community group or run a local charity, you should discuss your project and the funding required with your County Councillor before making an application online. Contact details for your County Councillor can be found here or from the Hertfordshire County Council website and click on the ‘who is my County Councillor’ link http://www.hertsdirect.org/actweb/postcode/postcode.cfm
