Mathematical models play a key role in determining effective strategies for the prevention and control of infectious diseases such as Sudden Oak Death, Citrus HLB disease (threatening the citrus industry), and Bluetongue (a disease of cattle and sheep). Scientists from Rothamsted, the Institute for Animal Health at Pirbright and Embrapa (Brazil) will be discussing ways in which mathematical models can help win the battle.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 9 October 2012 at 7.30 pm in the Rothamsted Conference Centre, Rothamsted Research, West Common, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, AL5 2JQ. Entrance is free of charge and no prior booking is required, however spaces are limited so it is advisable to arrive early.
