The Town Council has three main Committees all with delegated responsibilities, plus several Community Forums and Working Parties. Details of the Committees delegated responsibilities can be viewed here.
Full Council meetings are held eight times a year, at which all Councillors are involved in all policy decisions of the Council. All of the meetings are held in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Leyton Road, Harpenden and are open to the public (with the exception of sections of the meetings or committees dedicated to confidential items). Unless otherwise stated, all meetings commence at 7.30pm. Click here for a list of the Committees and their membership.
There is an opportunity for the public to speak at all Council meetings. To request a copy of our leaflet on speaking at a Council or Planning Committee meeting, please contact us. Please note, any requests to speak at a Full Council or Committee meeting, excluding Planning Committee meetings must be submitted in writing to the Town Clerk by midday on the Friday preceding the meeting. For speaking at Planning Committee meetings, intentions to speak must be received by 2.00pm on the day of the meeting.
